Responsibilities Safely operate buses or vans, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of students. Follow all state transportation regulations and traffic laws to maintain a safe driving environment. Assist students with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing friendly and professional customer service. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety equipment functionality. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to coordinate schedules and address any concerns. Handle manual handling tasks such as loading or unloading equipment or luggage when necessary. Maintain accurate logs of routes, passenger counts, and vehicle maintenance reports for compliance purposes. Experience Previous delivery driver experience or experience operating passenger vehicles such as vans or limousines is preferred. Experience with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time navigation. Familiarity with shuttle driving or medical transportation enhances your ability to adapt quickly to different passenger needs. Knowledge of local driving routes and adherence to state transportation regulations is essential for success in this role. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective client interaction and team coordination. Ability to perform heavy lifting when required for loading supplies or assisting passengers with mobility needs.
