POSITION SUMMARY

The Wardrobe Supervisor supports the Production Department and works closely with the Production Manager and Costume Designers to ensure the successful execution of world-class theatrical productions.

Production Responsibilities:

Execute daily costume preparation and maintenance prior to performances. Assist with costume construction, alterations, and performer fittings as needed. Repair and refurbish costumes to ensure they remain stage-ready and maintain the designer's artistic integrity. Prepare theatre for technical rehearsals, including setting up dressing room and costume racks. Assist in production maintenance, including wardrobe, etc. Be available as an emergency or short-term crew substitute.

General Operations:

Provide advice on the design of capital improvements and theatrical equipment upgrades as needed.

General Responsibilities:

Maintain costume inventory, track shop supplies, and organize prep areas. Ensure the costume shop remains a clean, safe, and efficient working environment. Support the Production Manager and Costume Designer in setup, maintenance, and operation of all costume aspects of the theater, including maintenance as needed.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS

Knowledge of principles of theatrical costume design and fashion history. Ability to sew, repair, launder, and maintain costumes, including hats, shoes, accessories. Ability to prepare costumes (launder, iron, steam) for use by actors. Capacity to solve problems and engage in creative thinking about challenges. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with designers, producers, directors and production staff with a full understanding of the artistic process. Must have a sense of balance with ability to work on ladders. Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and diplomacy skills. Ability to multitask and work effectively while managing multiple deadlines and priorities. Ability to work a varying schedule, including nights and weekends.

COMPENSATION

This part time non-exempt position will receive compensation of $25 per hour.

Expected hours:

20-25/week, variable.
