Summary As a Warehouse Technician at Spartan Companies, you will be an integral part of our operations team. This role involves managing warehouse activities to ensure efficient shipping and receiving processes while maintaining high standards of safety and organization. Minimum Expectations - Warehouse Technician The following minimum expectations outline the essential duties, safety requirements, and performance standards for all warehouse employees. 1. Safety & Equipment Inspections Follow all company Safety Policies, PSMS, and WMS rules at all times. Complete all daily equipment inspections (forklift, truck, trailer, etc.). Ensure all inspection sheets are accurately completed, scanned, and saved in the designated shared folder. Complete Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) when applicable. Wear all required PPE and maintain a safe and hazard‑free work environment. 2. Receiving Process All incoming shipments must be placed in the Receiving Box and must not be moved until the Goods Receipt (GR) is performed. Receive all materials from the designated Receiving Box. Verify all materials and boxes against the vendor packing slip and purchase order before completing GR. Follow Warehouse SOP 9.1.1 and 9.1.3 for detailed receiving procedures. 3. Storing Received Material After GR is completed, place all material in a properly marked storage bin in SAP, unless the material is immediately issued or kitted. RTSK materials may be KTTD immediately.
Approved storage locations include:
Moving Shelf Permanent Inventory bins 4. Goods Issue Process Issue and kit reservations based on the earliest Requirement Date. Reservations must be kitted 14 days in advance. Do not kit reservations until all required materials are received in inventory—unless specifically requested by a foreman. 5. Inventory Management - Cycle Counting Pull and complete Cycle Count sheets daily. Post all counts, even when discrepancies are found. Inspect inventory for damage or expiration during counting. Recount and report all anomalies to your supervisor immediately. 6. Daily Housekeeping Sweep warehouse floors daily. Remove trash and dispose of empty boxes not being retained for kitting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. 7. Deliveries Complete deliveries weekly on assigned days to designated field locations. Ensure delivery trucks and trailers are inspected, clean, and organized before departure. Ensure load is strapped and secure before leaving warehouse. 8. Electronic Documentation All daily inspection sheets, including those for trucks, forklifts, trailers, and any other equipment, must be fully completed, scanned, and saved in the designated shared file location. 9. On‑Call Expectations When assigned to on‑call duty, you must respond and be onsite at the warehouse within one hour of the first call. Timely response and full availability during on‑call periods are required. Schedule 5/8
