Non-Exempt Summary Glenmeadow is seeking a passionate Wellness Coach who promotes the physical and emotional well-being of Glenmeadow residents through engaging group fitness classes, individualized sessions, and aquatic programs. This role is responsible for designing and leading engaging fitness programs tailored to older adults. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead evidence-based group exercise classes (land and aquatic) tailored to resident needs and medical conditions. Provide individualized fitness sessions, including aquatic programs, ensuring proper form, safety, and motivation. Build supportive, long-term relationships with residents while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment. Document participant progress, attendance, and program outcomes; review medical histories to ensure program appropriateness. Communicate performance issues, incidents, and resident needs to the Director of Wellness. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Wellness Center and related areas; assist with equipment and supply needs. Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge and understanding of growth and development in the older adult population. Knowledge of instructional procedures and best practices in fitness. Strong health and fitness knowledge and practical skills, including aquatic exercise techniques. Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in a team setting. Experience and Education One year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training Understanding of first aid principles, with the ability to respond appropriately in medical or emergency situations. Personal Training or Fitness Certification or equivalent hours teaching in a public or private studio. Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Experience leading Group Fitness Classes to an adult/senior populationPHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and smell. Frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.Similar remote jobs
