Wine Tasting Experience Host and Associate

Overview Join our vibrant team as a Wine Tasting Experience Host and Associate, where your passion for wine and exceptional customer service will create memorable experiences for our guests. In this dynamic role, you will guide visitors through engaging tastings, share your wine knowledge, and foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages exploration and enjoyment in a casual and inimate setting. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to blend hospitality, sales, initiative, and intereste in education of all aspects of the wine industry in a friendly, family owned environment. Duties Enthusiastically greet guests warmly and provide engaging wine tasting experiences tailored to their preferences and knowledge levels Engage customers based on their interestes Educate guests about different wines, including varietals, regions, production methods, and food pairings Assist with menu/ special event planning for tastings, special groups, and winery events, contributing creativity to an established brand which highlights quality and variety. Contribute ideas, take intiative and follow through from start to finish on special projects, custom experiences and events. Manage POS transactions using systems such as Orderport, Square, Google for Sales, reservations, and inventory tracking Actively upsell wine selections and related products to enhance guest experience while achieving sales goals Maintain cleanliness and safety standards during tastings, food handling, and customer interaction with respect to stated company strategy and industry standards Support catering events and banquet functions. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling procedures during tastings or retail sales and follow open and closing procedures regarding cash. Ability to transact credit card, apple pay and other digital payment options. (will train specific) Skills Proven experience in restaurant or food service environments with a focus on customer service excellence Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing Knowledge of the food industry, including menu planning, food safety protocols, and culinary techniques Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products confidently and effectively Experience in serving at fine dining establishments or banquet settings is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to educate guests about wines and enhance their tasting experience Ability to handle multiple responsibilities such as cashiering, food handling, catering support, and meal preparation with professionalism Background in food safety standards and food industry best practices to ensure guest safety and satisfaction Embark on a rewarding journey where your enthusiasm for wine meets your talent for delivering exceptional service.
