PART-TIME COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-Time Collections Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing collections accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive client relationships. Your expertise in financial concepts, industry regulations, and excellent communication skills will drive successful debt recovery efforts. This position offers a flexible schedule perfect for individuals passionate about finance, customer service, and problem-solving within a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Contact customers via phone and email to follow up on overdue accounts, employing effective negotiation techniques to facilitate payment arrangements. Analyze accounts receivable data using QuickBooks and accounting software to identify delinquent accounts and prioritize collection efforts. Reconcile accounts by reviewing debits & credits, ensuring accuracy in account balances and resolving discrepancies promptly. Maintain detailed records of all client communications, payment agreements, and account statuses while handling confidential information with integrity. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, consumer protection laws, and company policies during all collection activities. Collaborate with accounts payable and other finance team members to resolve billing issues and facilitate smooth account reconciliation processes. Utilize telemarketing skills and phone etiquette to build rapport with clients, fostering positive relationships that encourage timely payments. Skills Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable management, or related finance roles. Excellent phone communication skills with professional phone etiquette and negotiation abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting; and QuickBooks. Ability to analyze financial data accurately, perform account analysis, and interpret complex financial concepts. Experience handling confidential information responsibly while ensuring compliance with financial regulatory standards. Effective typing speed for documentation purposes alongside telemarketing skills to engage clients effectively.
