This role is responsible for managing commercial collections, resolving payment disputes, and protecting lien and bond rights on construction-related projects. Key Responsibilities Manage collections activities for accounts 60+ days past due, maintaining regular contact with customers and documenting payment commitments. Work directly with customers, contractors, and project owners to resolve outstanding balances and negotiate payment solutions. Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, payment discrepancies, and account adjustments. Review and coordinate lien and bond claim filings to protect company interests. Assess collection risks and recommend appropriate escalations, including legal action when necessary. Verify project information, including owner details, licensing requirements, and contractor classifications. Collaborate with internal teams while maintaining ownership of assigned accounts. Qualifications Previous collections experience within the construction industry is required (or closely related industries such as building materials, subcontracting, commercial services, or industrial distribution). Accounting or Finance degree highly preferred Experience with liens, bond claims, and construction project collections strongly preferred. Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage disputed invoices and complex customer situations. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
