We are professional, customer-centric, collaborative and our goal is to assist children in the quad city area with needs for Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy services.. We are looking for an experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. The Medical Billing Specialist will manage insurance claims, patient billing, and payment posting for our pediatric therapy services and denial management. The ideal candidate will be familiar with therapy billing codes, and payer platforms including Availity, Blue Cross and Medicaid. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, medical billing experience, good attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new and existing patients and communicate this information to the families. Submit preauthorizations for therapy Denial Management Track and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments Apply appropriate modifiers and billing codes for therapy services (CPT/HCPCS) Send records as requested to insurance companies in a timely manner Help with prior authorizations as needed Respond to billing inquiries from parents/guardians in a professional, compassionate manner Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer regulations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or associate's degree 2+ years of billing experience, preferably in a medical office setting Experience with commercial and Medicaid billing highly preferred Experience with Prior Authorizations and claim appeals Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to handle sensitive patient and family information confidentially and compassionately
Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
