Job Description
Dental Office Billing and Medical Office Billing Busy Frederick, Maryland dental practice and Ambulatory Surgical Center is looking for an dental and medical office billing and insurance lead with at least 2 years dental office/medical office experience who can immediately take over some the critical functions of the front office. The candidate will be responsible for billing, verifying insurance eligibility, take the lead in collection activities and assist in patient check-in and check-out. This person must also possess not just good, but great personal skills because they will have daily contact with patients at the practice. 2 years front desk experience in medical setting, dental office preferred but relevant billing experience is also ok.
Required Skills:
Can follow instructions and has passion for attention to details. Self starter who actively looks for better ways to accomplish tasks and can set up processes. The candidate must be organized and must be willing and able and take instructions.Duties:
- review patients past due and generate bills for those patients (email, text, phone call, snail mail)
- Verify Insurance
- Submit both dental and medical claims
- interact with insurance companies to resolve claim issues
- interact with patients on a daily basis
- send out bills and answer questions for patients
- assist front team with overflow calls
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Proficiency in medical terminology, DRG systems, and medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Knowledge of medical collection practices and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Note:
Certification in medical billing or coding is preferred but not required.Job Type:
