Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare administration team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and healthcare claims management. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance claims, managing patient accounts, and maintaining comprehensive medical records. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of our billing department and support our commitment to excellent patient service. Duties Prepare and oversee submission of accurate insurance claims using billing software and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Review medical documentation to ensure proper coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through healthcare claims management processes and medical collections. Verify patient insurance coverage and explain benefits to patients clearly and professionally. Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing information and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, data entry, and record keeping to support billing operations. Stay updated on changes in health insurance policies, coding guidelines, and billing regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Assist with Front Desk responsibilities as needed. Skills Extensive knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD
coding, and DRG systems. Proficiency with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong understanding of healthcare claims management, medical collection procedures, and health insurance policies. Excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and claim processing. Effective communication skills for customer service interactions with patients and insurance providers. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation standards. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must have prior billing experience in physician office Must be familiar with infusion services billing Join our team as a Medical Billing Specialist to ensure seamless billing operations that support quality patient care while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour
