MUST have a minimum of 1 + years of full charge billing experience, preferably in Ophthalmology/Retina. Worked with PM software Allscripts is preferred.

Qualifications:

• A/R Specialist
• Development and maintenance of systems to ensure accurate and timely billing operations
• Posting insurance EOB payments
• Posting all clinic and surgery charges
• Timely submission of electronic claims
• Electronic Remittance downloads and posting
• Medicare/Medi-Cal/HMO/Private Payer follow-up and appeals
• Receives daily batches for verification and pre-coding
• Reviews overdue accounts on a monthly basis and explains the collective actions taken
• Reviews and records all payments from patients

• Timely Reporting:

  'Month End' and 'Year End' summary of 'charges,' 'payments,' and 'adjustments'A/R aging of 30-60-90 days
• Assists patients with billing inquiries
• Ophthalmology experience preferred
• Knowledge of capitation/Medicare policies/HMOs'/All Medi-Cal programs/Private Payers, and moreover, willing to motivate, mentor, and continually educate both billing department and office staff on industry-related regulations, and current third party payer requirements
• Proven knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes
• In depth knowledge of efficient billing and collections procedures
• High computer proficiency
• Ability to work effectively as a team member of the practice, demonstrating cooperation and mutual support of both co-workers and management
• Observe ethical practices at all times
