Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dental Accounts Manager to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of dental billing, insurance claims, dental coding, account reconciliation, and insurance follow-up. This position is responsible for managing the practice's accounts receivable and insurance billing processes, ensuring claims are accurately submitted, payments and adjustments are properly posted, and patient and insurance accounts remain accurate and balanced. Responsibilities Oversee the entire dental billing cycle, including submission and follow-up on insurance claims using healthcare claims management systems. Manage daily dental billing and accounts receivable activities. Perform accurate dental coding and ensure procedures are coded appropriately for submission. Prepare and submit dental insurance claims electronically and by other applicable methods. Collaborate with insurance companies to facilitate accurate and timely reimbursement for dental procedures. Review outstanding and rejected claims and take appropriate action to resolve them. Follow up with insurance companies regarding unpaid, delayed, denied, or incorrectly processed claims. Prepare and submit insurance claim appeals, including gathering appropriate documentation and supporting information. Review insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and accurately post payments, adjustments, write-offs, and denials. Make appropriate adjustments to claims and patient accounts based on insurance payments and contractual obligations. Reconcile credits and debits and ensure accounts are properly balanced. Identify and resolve credit balances, unapplied payments, and account discrepancies. Monitor aging accounts and take appropriate steps to reduce outstanding receivables. Communicate professionally with insurance carriers and patients regarding account and billing questions. Assist with improving billing workflows and reducing claim errors and outstanding accounts. Requirements Proven experience in medical office administration with a focus on dental billing or healthcare claims management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding practices. Familiarity with healthcare claims processing, medical collection procedures, and health insurance policies. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex billing information clearly. Ability to navigate medical coding standards accurately while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Knowledge of medical billing processes including claim submission, follow-up, denials management, and payment posting.

From $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
