DEPUTY COURT CLERK
43rd District Court -
Madison Heights Division Position:
Deputy Court Clerk Schedule:
Full Time - 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

8-3-26 General Summary Under the supervision of the Court Administrator and Chief Deputy Clerk, performs a wide variety of clerical duties related to civil, criminal, traffic and probation proceedings in a District Court. This position requires the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal supervision. The Deputy Clerk must have excellent communication skills and interact respectfully and professionally when providing assistance to the public, other courts, attorneys, law enforcement agencies and court staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: answering telephones, updating and maintaining court records, schedule and preparing court calendars, preparing forms, process payments and other assigned duties. Education An associate's degree or equivalent is desired. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of clerical experience, preferably in a court or law office. Physical Requirements This position requires walking, standing, carrying, bending, lifting, stooping, sitting for extended periods, talking, pulling, pushing, and finger dexterity. Must be able to bend and lift up to 40 pounds and perform repetitive hand and arm movements. Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a standard office setting and operate typical office equipment, including computers, as well as hearing and speech ability to communicate in person and by telephone. The position also requires lifting file boxes, reaching files on high shelves, and organizing and alphabetizing records.
