The Administrative Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for individuals entering or contacting Tri-County Child & Family Development Council, Inc. (Head Start). This position creates a welcoming, professional, and responsive first experience for families, visitors, community partners, vendors, applicants, and staff. The Administrative Assistant greets and directs visitors, responds to general inquiries, connects individuals with appropriate staff and resources, manages front-office functions, and provides general clerical and administrative support to agency departments. This position helps ensure every person interacting with our agency is treated with professionalism, respect, compassion, and excellent customer service.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED. Associate Degree or postsecondary training in Office Administration, Business Administration, Administrative Support, or a related field preferred. Two years of customer service, reception, administrative, clerical, office support, or related experience preferred. Experience working directly with the public, families, customers, or community members preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills. High ethical standards and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suites & Database system Valid Iowa Driver's License & ability to be insured under agency policy Must be cleared & allowed to work in a childcare setting by the Iowa Department of Human Services
