Job Description

High Point University's Administrative Assistant for the Office of Community Standards is integral to High Point University's efforts to foster a values-driven, respectful, and supportive campus environment. Reporting to the Senior Director of Community Standards, this team member delivers comprehensive administrative, organizational, and customer-service support for an office responsible for student conduct management, educational dialogue, and community accountability initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education High school diploma required Bachelor's degree preferred Experience 3-5 years of progressive experience in administrative or professional office roles. Experience in higher education or a student‑facing environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort learning new platforms; experience with conduct or case‑management software such as Maxient preferred. Understanding of confidentiality and ethical standards as required by FERPA. Ability to manage competing priorities. Commitment to HPU's values and hospitality culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Serves as initial point of contact and demonstrate HPU's extraordinary service standards. Manages scheduling for meetings and student appointments. Sends communications and reminders regarding deadlines, sanctions, and documentation. Organizes conduct-related files and records in compliance with FERPA. Assists with office operations including supplies, mail, work orders, and budget tracking. Prepares conduct correspondence, case materials, and official documents. Provides phone and email support with a 24-hour response expectation. Records meeting minutes as needed. Assists in departmental programming and training coordination. Maintains an organized and hospitable reception area. Supports website updates and communication materials. Performs other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position and service to the University with the ability to operate independently to complete all assigned tasks.
