Duties Greet clients warmly and efficiently check in and check out patients using veterinary software systems. Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and manage calendar updates to optimize clinic workflow. Collect payments, process medical collections accurately, and handle billing inquiries with professionalism. Maintain detailed records of client interactions, medical histories, and treatment plans in compliance with veterinary regulations including DEA and USDA standards. Assist with front desk operations such as answering phones, responding to emails, and managing client inquiries about pet care services. Support veterinary staff by coordinating laboratory tests, managing laboratory experience tasks, and preparing animal patient files. Handle animal restraint during examinations or procedures with care and adherence to aseptic technique principles. Support kennel operations by assisting with animal husbandry, dog handling, and basic pet care activities as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception area to ensure a professional environment that reflects our commitment to animal welfare. Requirements Proven experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital environment is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and veterinary critical care practices. Familiarity with veterinary software systems such as PetVet or AVImark is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with clients of diverse backgrounds. Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; experience with dog training or animal handling is a plus. Knowledge of medical collection procedures and familiarity with laboratory processes related to companion animal medicine. Understanding of drug enforcement regulations (DEA) and USDA regulations relevant to veterinary practice. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for administrative support tasks. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
