Mid-shifts + Some Saturday Mornings About the Role The Welcome Desk Attendant is the front-of-house anchor at The Gym Newtown , Fairfield County's first gym built exclusively for adults over 40. This role sets the tone for the entire member experience — calm, professional, and welcoming — while executing front desk operations exactly as designed. This is not a sales role and not a decision-making position . The Welcome Desk Attendant supports members, processes approved transactions, maintains facility presentation, and ensures that questions or requests are accurately logged and routed to the appropriate team member. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured environments, values professionalism, and takes pride in consistency and reliability in a premium, coaching-led setting. What You'll Do
•Member Experience Warmly greet and check in members and guests Create a calm, professional, and welcoming front desk environment Direct members to sessions, coaches, or next steps as needed Answer incoming phone calls and route inquiries appropriately Communication & Support Provide high-level information about the facility and services ( high level selling only in membership sales absence) Capture questions, concerns, or requests and route them to the correct manager or coach Accurately log member and prospect interactions for follow-up Transactions & Shake Bar Process approved purchases through the point-of-sale system Prepare shakes and beverages according to standard recipes Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shake bar and front desk area Monitor inventory visibility and report issues Facility & Quality Control Perform routine walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness and readiness Assist with restocking retail and shake bar items Complete assigned shift reset or cleaning tasks Identify and report maintenance or safety issues promptly What This Role Does Not Do Negotiate pricing or contracts Approve discounts, refunds, freezes, or cancellations Resolve complaints independently Make training or membership recommendations Who This Role Is a Good Fit For Someone who enjoys helping people feel comfortable and supported A calm, professional communicator who performs well under structure Detail-oriented and reliable individuals who follow processes consistently Candidates with hospitality, retail, restaurant, or fitness experience Sales experience is a plus, but not required. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred Customer-facing experience strongly preferred Interest in health, fitness, or service-based environments is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for the duration of a shift Ability to lift items ranging from 5-50 lbs as needed Frequent handwashing and light cleaning tasks required Schedule Shifts Needed include: Monday thru Friday

Pay:
$18.00
