Job Description
Overview The Alzheimer's Family Support Center provides an array of cost-free services to families and individuals who are dealing with Alzheimer's and other dementia-related diseases. We are seeking a dynamic and personable Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming voice of the Alzheimer's Family Support Center. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and team members, ensuring a positive and professional experience from the first contact. Your energetic, compassionate approach and excellent organizational skills will help project a calming presence to those seeking help with managing dementia, and help keep our busy office running smoothly. Additional duties involve providing ongoing phone support to dementia caregivers. We are happy to train the right person for this position, which offers an exciting opportunity to develop office skills, learn to help people navigate the world of dementia, and contribute to a vibrant team environment. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly and direct them appropriately to ensure a positive first impression. Manage phones with professionalism, providing exceptional customer service and support to callers. Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, mail, and packages, maintaining accurate records through data entry and filing. Support office management tasks such as calendar management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings using tools like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Maintain organized reception areas, ensuring all supplies are stocked and the environment remains tidy and welcoming. Provide phone support to AFSC clients by answering inquiries promptly and courteously while maintaining high levels of professionalism in all interactions. Experience Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette. Prior experience working in an office environment or as a receptionist is preferred; familiarity with office management tasks is highly valued Proficiency in Mac-based computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace applications, and data entry skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Interest in and ability to learn new skills is essential. Flexibility and willingness to learn specialized protocols is appreciated.
