Salon Receptionist & Future Stylist (Cosmetology Track)

Entry-Level / Apprentice Pipeline Job Overview Are you currently enrolled in cosmetology school or preparing to launch your career as a licensed hair stylist? We are seeking a passionate, client-focused Front Desk Receptionist who is explicitly looking to grow into a full-time stylist on our salon floor. This role serves as the face of our salon while offering you a front-row seat to our operations, client experience, and creative techniques. We view this position as a direct springboard for your cosmetology career providing mentorship, exposure to floor dynamics, and a clear path to building your own clientele behind the chair.
Key Responsibilities Client Experience:
Warmly greet clients upon arrival, offer beverages, manage check-ins/check-outs, and maintain a welcoming front-desk environment.
Appointment Management:
Handle incoming phone calls, schedule appointments using our booking software, manage the daily flow, and optimize stylist calendars.
Salon Operations:
Assist with retail product sales, process payments, restock retail displays, and track product inventory.
Floor Support:
Maintain clean and organized reception and waiting areas, assist with light sweeping and laundry rotation between clients as needed.
Professional Growth:
Observe senior stylists, participate in salon education opportunities, and prepare for your eventual transition to the floor. Qualifications & Requirements Cosmetology Focus (Required): Must be a current cosmetology student, recent cosmetology graduate, or actively pursuing your cosmetology license with the intent to become a salon stylist.
Availability:
Must be able to work in-person (tuesday - saturday or evenings based on salon operating hours).
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a warm, professional demeanor.
Tech Savvy:
Comfortable learning salon scheduling and point-of-sale (POS) software.
Punctuality & Reliability:
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.
