Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for patient check-in, treating all patients in a professional and courteous manner. Reviews patient charts to verify necessary information and signatures have been obtained. Enters new patient information into the computer. Ensures the patient feels welcome to the practice.
Education & Experience:
1. High School diploma or equivalent 2. One year minimum experience in medical practice or in customer service is preferred.

1. Excellent customer service and communication skills. 2. Ability to work as a team member. 3. Ability to engage patients and customers and quickly problem solve any issues that arise during the face-to-face encounters. 4. Able to manage multiple tasks and multiple software programs simultaneously. 5. Highly motivated and organized. 6. Empathetic with patients' needs and concerns. 7. Excels under pressure. 8. Attentive to detail. 9. Treats patients and coworkers with respect.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Check-In a. Responsible for patient check in, greeting each patient in a pleasant and professional manner. b. Tracks patients in the reception area and communicates with them as needed. c. Evaluates chart data to verify all information has been received and completed, and signatures obtained. d. Scans patient insurance cards and driver's license. e. Ensures that proper authorization or referral is collected from each patient. f. Makes necessary corrections in practice management system software and EHR as needed. 2. Administrative a. Places telephone calls to PCPs and patients to obtain referrals as needed prior to the time of appointment. b. Places telephone calls to no-show appointment; reschedules as needed. c. Provides back up support on telephones. d. Inspects reception area for neatness and stocks waiting room refreshments. e. Performs other duties as required. f. Assists other front office personnel as needed. g. Cleans waiting room daily. h. Continuously scans the waiting area to ensure all patients are called back timely.

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
