Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shop and Grounds Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. Duties Perform routine inspections and maintenance of grounds, including landscaping, mowing, trimming, and debris removal to keep outdoor areas pristine. Conduct repairs on building interior systems such as lighting, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and electrical equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Snow removal operations Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and programmable logic controllers to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems. Maintain facilities equipment including HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical panels, and other mechanical devices through scheduled inspections and repairs. Carry out painting tasks for facilities maintenance projects, including residential painting touch-ups and large-scale maintenance painting. Repair electrical systems using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters; perform electrical work in compliance with safety standards. Support leadership by documenting maintenance activities accurately and assisting with special projects related to building interior maintenance and groundskeeping. Requirements Proven experience with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC system repair, carpentry, welding, and mechanical knowledge. Ability to read schematics for electrical wiring, plumbing layouts, HVAC systems, and mechanical diagrams. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools necessary for troubleshooting. Strong understanding of facilities maintenance procedures including building interior upkeep and groundskeeping practices. Excellent communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with team members and report on maintenance activities. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus; experience with HVAC system repair or electrical equipment repair is highly desirable. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, working at heights or in confined spaces as needed for grounds or facility repairs.
