Turf Applicator About the Role Apply chemical treatments to turf and assist with mowing operations as a cross-functional member of the Turf department, serving new and existing customers in residential and commercial settings. Turf Applicator duties include distributing fertilizer, herbicide, fungicide, and other chemical treatments to promote healthy turf growth, as well as operating riding mowers, string trimmers, and blowers to support mowing crews when chemical applications are not scheduled. What You'll Do Review your daily schedule, routes, job sites, scope of work, and required materials before departure, then apply fertilizer, herbicide, fungicide, and other chemical treatments to assigned properties using ride-on and hand-held equipment, calibrating equipment beforehand and following all Iowa pesticide posting and chemical handling, storage, and disposal regulations. Assist mowing crews with riding mowers, string trimmers, and blowers when chemical applications aren't scheduled, making sure trimmings and clippings are cleared from driveways, sidewalks, and hardscape. Confirm each property is clear of obstacles, toys, and pet waste before starting work, and walk it afterward to verify quality, photographing and reporting any damage. Log materials used, application rates, and job notes in iCREWtek at each site, document weather conditions affecting applications, and report incomplete work, property damage, or accidents to the Turf Manager immediately. Maintain professional customer relations with all customers on assigned properties, clean and flush equipment and prep for the next day at the end of each shift. Perform snow removal duties as assigned as part of year-round employment. Promote, demonstrate and enforce safety procedures and company policies.
