Job Overview The Landscape Construction Crew Lead is a hands-on working leader responsible for leading a small crew in the installation of landscape construction projects. Reporting directly to the Foreman, this role focuses on executing work safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while guiding crew members in daily tasks. The Crew Lead works alongside the team in the field and supports the Foreman with productivity, communication, and jobsite organization.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Crew Leadership (Working Lead) Lead by example while actively performing landscape construction work Direct day-to-day tasks for crew members based on Foreman instructions Train crew members on proper construction techniques, equipment use, and safety practices Maintain crew productivity, teamwork, and jobsite discipline Landscape Construction Work Perform and lead landscape construction installations including: Hardscape installation (pavers, block retaining walls, steps, edging, etc.) Site prep, grading, base preparation, and compaction Drainage systems and minor irrigation installation or repairs Planting trees, shrubs, sod, and landscape materials as part of construction projects Read and follow construction plans, layouts, and job specifications Ensure work meets quality standards and Foreman expectations Safety & Jobsite Standards Follow and promote all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines Conduct daily jobsite safety practices including PPE compliance Keep jobsites clean, organized, and safe throughout the workday Equipment & Materials Safely operate landscape construction tools and equipment Perform daily inspections of tools and equipment and report issues Help track material usage and notify Foreman of shortages or needs Qualifications & Experience 3+ years of landscape construction or hardscape experience Previous experience leading or mentoring crew members preferred Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and tool Ability to take direction from a Foreman and execute plans accurately Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Pay Transparency Mariani Enterprises LLC is committed to pay transparency and equity among all employees and provides employees with an environment where pay transparency and dialogue on compensation are allowed.
