Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Laborer to join our excavation and construction team. In this role, you will be an essential part of the crew, assisting with various site activities that drive the success of our projects. Your energetic approach and attention to safety will ensure efficient operations, helping us deliver quality results on time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in heavy equipment operation and construction site management while contributing to impactful infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Assist with excavation, grading, and site preparation activities using heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks Operate construction machinery including Caterpillar equipment and dump trucks to move materials efficiently around the site Support the setup and breakdown of construction zones, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times Help with material handling, loading and unloading supplies using appropriate machinery like loaders and excavators Follow detailed instructions from supervisors to complete tasks accurately and safely Maintain a clean and organized work environment by clearing debris and ensuring equipment is in good working order Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety guidelines to prevent accidents on-site What You'll Do Assist with excavation, trenching, and underground utility installation (sanitary, water, storm sewer) Support grading, earth moving, and site preparation work Install and remove trench shoring and safety systems Perform soil compaction and backfill operations Assist equipment operators on job sites Follow all OSHA trenching and excavation safety protocols Operate hand tools and assist with asphalt/paving work as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site at all times

What We're Looking For Required:

2+ years of excavation, underground utility, or heavy civil construction experience Working knowledge of OSHA trenching and excavation safety standards (29 CFR 1926 Subpart P) Familiarity with 811 call-before-you-dig utility marking procedures Ability to perform physically demanding labor including lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly Reliable transportation to job sites throughout Niagara and Erie County Valid driver's license Authorization to work in the United States Preferred (not required): Experience with trench shoring, pipe laying, and soil compaction Equipment operation experience (excavator, backhoe, skid steer, compactor) OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Confined space entry training Join our team to be part of dynamic projects that shape communities!
