Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Public Works Laborer to support municipal infrastructure and community services. This role involves performing manual labor tasks related to maintenance, repair, and construction of public facilities and utilities. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, reliable, and committed to ensuring the safety and functionality of public spaces. Duties Assist with the maintenance and repair of roads, sidewalks, parks, and other public facilities Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment to perform construction and repair tasks Perform routine inspections of infrastructure components for safety and functionality Support water, sewer, and storm drain system maintenance including cleaning, flushing, and minor repairs Conduct material deliveries and assist with loading/unloading supplies and equipment Maintain work areas in a clean and safe condition following safety protocols Respond to community requests or emergencies as directed by supervisors Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant experience is a plus Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, digging, and operating manual tools Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions Strong work ethic with attention to safety procedures and detail-oriented approach Valid driver's license required; Class B CDL required or the ability to obtain certification within one year of date of hire Willingness to work flexible hours as needed for project deadlines or emergency response This position plays a vital role in maintaining the quality of life within the community by supporting essential public services.
