Position Summary:

We are seeking motivated Civil Laborer Apprentices to join our dynamic construction team. This position requires a lot of physical labor and stamina. Responsible for cleaning and preparing construction sites, and during your first year, flagging and assisting in the coordination of traffic. Assists operators, and other construction site workers as needed.

General Duties:

Cleaning and Preparing commercial sites for preparation, utility construction, road building, land clearing and earth moving. Lift, carry and hold materials, tools, and supplies and deliver each to the appropriate location as needed to complete the task at hand. Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary. Perform miscellaneous duties such as; site maintenance and cleanup, installations, grading, and shoveling. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment or materials. Ground working, marking out and digging shallow trenches.

First Year Duties Include:

1. Control traffic at designated areas, signaling with flags, and using hand gestures. 2. Ensure the safety of pedestrians and workers on construction sites by maintaining a safe distance between vehicles and pedestrians. 3. Direct vehicles through construction sites, detours, and work zones, while communicating with other flaggers to ensure smooth traffic flow. All duties require you to maintain a professional appearance and attitude while on job sites and in front of clients. Qualifications Must be 18 years old with high school diploma Must have a valid driver's license Ability to stand 8-12 hours when flagging. Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks Ability to work with related tools and equipment Ability to understand instructions and work specifications Able to perform physical tasks for all aspects of a construction projects Able to lift more than 80 pounds and carry for 50 ft Work in various weather conditions including heat, rain and cold

Pay:

$20.00 - $33.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
