Position Overview We are seeking an HVAC Project Manager-Government Specialist to manage mechanical construction projects from handoff through closeout. This role is responsible for schedule coordination, cost control, field coordination, and client communication to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget. Someone with a background working on federal projects or buildings owned by the national government, familiar with Davis-Bacon and Related Federal Acts, and proven experience managing plan spec jobs would be the ideal fit. Responsibilities Manage HVAC construction projects from pre-construction handoff through project closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans. Coordinate with internal engineering and design teams on design-build and design-assist projects as needed. Lead project kickoff meetings and regular coordination meetings. Conduct periodic job site visits to monitor progress, verify installations comply with plans, and ensure adherence to safety standards. Track job costs, forecasts, and project profitability. Prepare, price, and manage change orders. Coordinate field supervision and internal resources to support project execution. Ensure work complies with contract documents, mechanical codes, and company standards. Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Organize and maintain project folders and operational Software (BuildOps). Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, government representatives and government officials. Manage submittals, RFIs, as-builts, and closeout documentation. Support inspections, testing, balancing, and commissioning activities. Train and guide junior project managers. Required Qualifications 1+ year(s) of construction project management experience in HVAC, mechanical, or related trades, specifically including federal government project experience. Experience managing projects in the $500K-$5M+ range. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts, specifically including proven skill in plan/spec jobs. Familiarity with Davis-Bacon and Related Federal Acts and experience with public sector and prevailing wage projects. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with construction management software (BuildOps, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, MS Project, or similar). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). Preferred Qualifications Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical construction practices. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. PMP, LEED, or similar certifications is a plus. Travel & Work Environment This role may be location-flexible with our HQ based in Grafton, WI. Supports projects nationwide. Regular visits to active construction sites.
