Inspection Technicians Job Description Join our team as an Inspection Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and preventing gas leaks by conducting periodic facility inspections. This entry-level position requires a valid driver's license and a professional demeanor as you will be entering customers' homes. Responsibilities Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys on utility-owned gas meters for corrosion and/or damage. Complete all necessary documentation. Document inspection findings in compliance with regulatory requirements. Support the successful completion of regulatory audits and inspections. Conduct integrity surveys, including direct assessments and close interval surveys. Perform audit reviews with operations and support them during audits. Essential Skills Valid driver's license. Professional demeanor and good communication skills. Mechanical ability with a background in fields such as cable techs, HVAC, piping, or auto mechanics. Ability to walk, climb stairs, and ladders during an 8-hour workday in various weather conditions. Customer service orientation and professionalism. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year of driving experience. Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Intermediate knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and mechanical aptitude. Equipment provided includes a simple tool set, safety gear, and a tablet for daily route management. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Island City, NY.
