Duties Operate grapple trucks, boom trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to load and unload cargo from ships, trucks, and storage areas Handle materials with precision using rigging techniques and load securing methods to ensure stability during transport Conduct routine inspections of hydraulic systems, cranes, and lifting equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety compliance Follow all crane operation protocols, safety regulations, and OSHA standards during daily tasks to prevent accidents and injuries Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying cargo documentation and ensuring proper placement of materials within designated areas Implement construction site safety procedures, including the use of safety equipment such as helmets, gloves, harnesses, and reflective gear Maintain detailed records of operations, including shift logs, incident reports, and equipment maintenance logs for accountability Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as grapple trucks, overhead cranes, boom trucks, or backhoes in a construction or port environment Mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, crane systems, load handling procedures in crane operations, and rigging techniques Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial driving and material handling equipment operation Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and the implementation of OSHA safety standards Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads while adhering to safety protocol guidelines Strong understanding of load securing rigging methods and materials handling best practices Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and following safety instructions Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a tangible impact on port operations!
