This position is responsible for operating overhead cranes and material handling equipment to safely move steel plates, fabricated tanks, structural components, and other heavy materials throughout the shop and yard. The ideal candidate will have experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing or fabrication environment and understand safe rigging and load handling practices. Responsibilities Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently throughout the facility Move steel plate, tanks, structural components, and fabricated assemblies Inspect cranes, rigging, slings, chains, and lifting equipment daily Work closely with welders, fitters, and production personnel to support workflow Safely stage materials and completed assemblies for production and shipping Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Maintain a clean and organized work area Report equipment issues or maintenance concerns promptly Qualifications Previous overhead crane operating experience required Experience working in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred Knowledge of rigging, load balancing, and safe lifting procedures Ability to read hand signals and communicate effectively with shop personnel Forklift experience preferred Strong attention to safety and detail Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed Preferred Experience Experience handling large fabricated vessels or structural steel Experience with multiple crane capacities and large shop environments Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the shift Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday Overtime available
