In this energetic role, you will operate specialized construction machinery to precisely drill underground pathways for utilities such as water, gas, and telecommunications. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and accurate directional drilling projects, contributing to vital infrastructure development. Duties Operate horizontal directional drilling machines with precision to install underground utilities according to project specifications Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on construction machinery including excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and water trucks Assist with utility locating to accurately identify existing underground infrastructure before drilling begins Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines Follow all federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment Perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility work as needed on construction sites Operate heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery, excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and dump trucks to support various construction activities Requirements Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery including excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and water trucks Knowledge of construction utility work and excavation techniques Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures Ability to perform routine maintenance on construction machinery and perform minor repairs when necessary Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving and heavy equipment operation Construction site experience with a focus on utility installation or directional drilling preferred Ability to operate loaders, excavators (including Caterpillar), backhoes, graders, paving equipment, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently Excellent understanding of construction grading standards and safety regulations for construction sites Join us in building essential infrastructure while advancing your skills in a vibrant work environment!
