Your day will span from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, giving you a stable weekday schedule and the chance to foster meaningful connections with your student and the school community.

Qualifications:

Active Illinois sign language interpreter license (state and/or discipline-specific certification required) Additional district or state credentials, such as a Professional Educator License (PEL), Para Certification, or relevant experience per directors request Proficiency in American Sign Language and experience interpreting within educational settings Dedication to supporting DHH students in academic and social environments

Responsibilities:

Provide real-time sign language interpretation between the DHH student and teachers, staff, and peers throughout the school day Facilitate clear communication to ensure the students full participation in classroom activities Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and the students educational team Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times Adapt interpreting techniques as needed to support different learning styles and settings
