You will assist the geotechnical driller in soil sampling and rock coring at job site locations. Most job assignments will be in the DFW and surrounding areas. Drilling crews come to the shop in the morning to pick up their assignments and supplies, then head out to the locations and complete the job as instructed.

Responsibilities:

Assist in routine to very difficult drilling, sampling, and well installation operations with truck-mounted, ATV-mounted, and hand-operated drilling equipment and other activities related to the drilling operation. Maintain technically accurate and neat field logs. Operate all vehicles in accordance with all state, federal, and local laws. Assist with field surveying or other field engineering activities. Assist with site mobilization and material handling. Assist with groundwater recovery or monitoring well development after installation and/or prior to sampling. Comply with site-specific and/or corporate health and safety plan and wear appropriate safety equipment. Move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds each. Package and preserve samples as directed. Backfill and repair pavement at completed borehole sites. Perform or assist in routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment at shop and in field. Prepare sampling and drilling equipment and procures project supplies for future projects. Help maintain the warehouse and shop area. Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. Experience is a plus but not mandatory Must have a valid driver's license with insurable driving history. Ability to perform strenuous physical activities as required by the job Must pass a physical exam, drug screening, and motor vehicle record and background check. Must have regular and dependable attendance and punctuality. Henley-Johnston & Associates, Inc. is a 75-year old firm actively engaged in geotechnical consulting and construction materials testing in the North Texas area. All work is based out of the Dallas office. Competitive pay and benefits included. Pay rate will depend on experience.
