In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project requirements, developing cost estimates, and collaborating across departments to ensure efficient production planning. Your expertise will help optimize manufacturing processes, control costs, and support strategic decision-making to meet customer demands and business objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where technical proficiency and cross-functional communication drive success. Duties Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and technical data to develop precise manufacturing cost estimates. Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) to gather relevant data on materials, labor, and production timelines. Determine best manufacturing process including tooling and run times for CNC and manual equipment. Collaborate with supply chain management teams to evaluate inventory levels, logistics, and procurement strategies for cost-effective sourcing. Conduct demand planning and forecasting analysis to predict production needs and align estimates with market trends. Coordinate with production management systems and master production scheduling (MPS) teams to ensure estimates reflect realistic timelines and resource availability. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams—including engineering, logistics, procurement, and sales—to gather insights and refine estimates. Monitor inventory management systems and logistics inventory management practices to incorporate accurate inventory control costs into estimates. Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles to streamline estimating processes. Qualifications Strong machining knowledge including CNC and manual machines. Fabrication knowledge is also required such as welding and Sheetmetal. Proven experience in manufacturing estimation or a related role within a manufacturing environment. Strong technical proficiency with ERP systems such as Epicor, Oracle, or equivalent production management systems. In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, demand forecasting analysis, inventory management, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and production planning. Expertise in Microsoft Office tools—particularly Excel—for data analysis, spreadsheet creation, and report generation. Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics inventory management practices. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications accurately. Excellent cross-functional communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
