Job Description
Junior Electrical EstimatorWe are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Electrical Estimator to join our growing estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction or electrical professional who wants to build a long-term career in electrical estimating, preconstruction, and project delivery.
We are an electrical contracting company supporting a diverse range of commercial, industrial, residential, technology, lighting, security, and critical-infrastructure projects. The company's work includes electrical installations, wiring, switchgear, underground and overhead conduit, transformers, generators, lighting, and low-voltage/specialty systems.
The Junior Electrical Estimator will work closely with senior estimators, project managers, field leadership, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to help prepare competitive, accurate, and complete electrical bids.
What You'll DoAssist with reviewing project drawings, specifications, bid documents, addenda, and scope requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical materials, equipment, labor, and related project components.
Help prepare detailed estimates for commercial, industrial, residential, and specialty electrical projects.
Support the pricing of labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and vendor costs.
Request and organize supplier quotations for electrical materials and equipment.
Compare vendor proposals, identify scope gaps, and assist with bid leveling.
Work with senior estimating staff to ensure all project scope is captured before bid submission.
Help identify exclusions, clarifications, alternates, allowances, and value-engineering opportunities.
Maintain accurate estimating files, bid logs, pricing databases, and supporting documentation.
Assist in preparing proposals, bid packages, scope sheets, and customer-facing estimate summaries.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, turnover meetings, and internal estimate reviews as needed.
Coordinate with project management and operations teams to support a smooth transition from awarded bid to project execution.
Continue developing knowledge of electrical construction means and methods, applicable codes, materials, and estimating best practices.
What We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree, bachelor's degree, trade-school training, or coursework in Construction Management, Electrical Technology, Engineering, Estimating, or a related field is preferred.1-3 years of experience in construction, estimating, project coordination, purchasing, related environment (Electrical field work experience preferred.)Basic understanding of electrical construction materials, systems, and terminology is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and plan sets.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard office tools.
Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Accubid, LiveCount, Trimble, Procore, or other estimating/construction-management software is a plus, but not required.
