Job Summary

Position Purpose:

In a team oriented work environment, under moderate supervision, performs variety of structural assembly operations in a production department.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensure parts/assembly meet FAA requirements, customer specifications, and Gulfstream standard of quality

Rivet structural assemblies and parts including sheetmetal parts using all tools required to do job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets)

Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type size and hole pattern for rivets

Check all work and ensure defective free assembly prior to final inspection

Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs). Use resource planning system to enter daily labor against correct Work Order and Item numbers

Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners

Maintain neat and orderly work area, support company 5S Program and comply with all safety regulations

Work under moderate supervision on duties and tasks

Support Lean Activities

Additional Functions:

Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g. YIAW, Kaizen events, etc.)

Keep shop and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered

Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned by Supervisor

Comply with safety rules and procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required - One year experience credit considered for graduates of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program

Experience:

1 year related structural assembly experience required

Must Haves (Non-Negotiable):

High School Diploma or GED required

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language

1 year related structural assembly experience

Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred

Required Skills:

Basic knowledge of various aircraft structures, sheetmetal, and fabrication processes

Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints

Read and interpret 6" scale - Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math

Basic computer skills

Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions

Must have essential personal skills which include aptitude for hands-on craftwork, professional attitude, attention to detail, ability to work with people and to meet demanding schedules

Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices

Ability to work with composite resins and materials

Physical /

Other:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Must be able to work any shift

Must be able to climb ladders/stands/stairs and work in small spaces and/or restricted areas

Work Environment

Production / shop environment performing structural assembly, drilling, and riveting operations. Team oriented, moderate supervision. Requires use of pneumatic guns, drills, riveting tools, jigs, fixtures, and resource planning systems. Exposure to sheetmetal, composite resins, and manufacturing processes. Must comply with 5S, Lean, and safety regulations.

Uniform Policy

Uniform Requirements:

Purchase uniforms from designated supplier (CINTAS).

Interim Attire:

Wear navy-blue shirt/t-shirt and blue work pants/shorts (no denim) prior to receiving uniforms.

3 Flat front pants

2 Face masks (in case the mask mandate returns)

Safety Shoes:

Steel-toed shoes required for job duties.
