Sugar Land, TX Job Details 5 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Employee relationship building Hand tools Full Job Description Mako Industries is hiring experienced Structural Fitters for the Fabrication Shop that may assemble structural framework, components, materials, and other steel components that meets recognized standards and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures.
Fundamental Functions:
Lay out, position, align and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications. Piping and Vessell expeience a plus Measure, cut, bevel, grind, and prepare components for fit-up using hand and power tools. Align and tack weld assemblies, ensuring dimensional accuracy and proper fit-up prior to final welding. MUST be able to fit up structural skids from start to finish Most work on: GMAW (MIG) and FACW (Flux Core) Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with customers, coworkers, clients, and supervisors. Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of area. Work in a safe and conscientious manner. Identify potential hazards and make necessary corrections. Read and interpret weld symbols on shop drawings and prints and apply information accordingly. Must own hand tools. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. All applications necessary to adequately perform required tasks. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance with the ability to work overtime and weekends. Possess strong sense of urgency. Works independently and/or as a cooperative team player. Willingly takes direction from supervisory and lead personnel. Adhere to quality procedures and demonstrates strong safety awareness and prevention. Eligibility for employment is contingent upon passing a drug screening
