Structural Welder - Fab Shop Hot Job Sugar Land, TX 77478 Apply Apply Description Mako Industries is seeking an experienced Structural Welder skilled in 2G, 3G, and 4G welding positions to join our fabrication shop team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel components according to blueprints, welding procedures, and quality standards while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Perform FCAW, SMAW, and/or GMAW welding on structural steel components. Weld in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions to code and company standards. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols. Fit, tack, and weld structural assemblies including beams, columns, plates, stairs, and miscellaneous metals. Operate shop equipment such as grinders, torches, overhead cranes, and plasma cutters. Inspect welds for quality, penetration, and compliance with specifications. Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies. Assist fitters and fabricators during assembly operations as needed. Repair defective welds and perform rework when required. Meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Qualifications Minimum 2-5 years of structural welding experience in a fabrication shop. Ability to pass or hold current 2G, 3G, and 4G welding certifications. Experience welding carbon steel using FCAW and SMAW preferred. Ability to read blueprints and understand weld symbols. Familiarity with
AWS D1.1
structural welding standards preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
