Driver's License Construction industry experience Water systems Loader operation Underground utility pipelaying projects Skid steer loader OSHA 10-Hour Construction Construction workplace safety regulations Full Job Description Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator Full-Time Position We are a well-established heavy civil excavation and demolition company seeking an experienced Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This is a dual-role position that combines commercial driving and heavy equipment operation, with the majority of time spent operating equipment on active job sites. The ideal candidate will have strong excavation and utility installation experience, a solid safety record, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, loaders, and other construction machinery Drive a six-wheeler truck and trailer as required (approximately 30% of job duties) Perform excavation, grading, trenching, and site preparation for commercial and residential projects Install underground utilities, including sewer, water, and drainage systems Set precast structures and related site components Load trucks, backfill trenches, and support daily construction operations Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs Maintain equipment in a clean and safe operating condition Work independently and collaboratively with field crews Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements Maintain productivity and quality standards in various weather and site conditions Qualifications Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License with at least 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience Proven experience in excavation, underground utility installation, and site development Strong understanding of construction safety practices OSHA 10 Certification (required) Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening Reliable, dependable, and safety-focused Authorized to work legally in the United States Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience Paid holidays Paid vacation Full-time, year-round employment Steady workload with a variety of excavation and demolition projects Opportunity to work with a growing and respected construction team Work Location In-person at project sites Qualified candidates with excavation, utility, and heavy equipment experience are encouraged to apply.
