Piping Systems Installations LLC (PSI) is a mechanical contracting company serving Massachusetts and Rhode Island, specializing in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, refrigeration, and industrial process piping. We're looking for a skilled, detail-oriented welder to join our shop team and support our fabrication work for commercial and industrial piping projects.
Position Summary:
PSI is seeking a Certified Welder experienced in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding to perform shop-based fabrication and welding on commercial and industrial piping systems. This role is critical to producing high-quality, code-compliant piping assemblies for our project teams in the field.
Responsibilities:
Perform TIG, MIG, and Stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other piping materials. Fabricate and weld piping components and assemblies for commercial and industrial mechanical systems. Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding specifications. Fit and align pipe, fittings, and supports prior to welding. Perform visual inspection of welds to ensure quality and code compliance. Maintain and properly use welding equipment, tools, and PPE. Follow all applicable welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS) as required by project specifications. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop work area. Collaborate with fabrication and field teams to meet project timelines. Complete required documentation, including weld logs and quality records.
Qualifications:
Current welding certification(s) in TIG, MIG, and Stick processes required. Proven experience welding commercial/industrial piping systems. Ability to read and work from technical drawings and welding specifications. Knowledge of applicable welding codes and quality standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a shop environment. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred:
Experience with pipe fabrication for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, refrigeration, or process piping systems. Prior experience in a mechanical contracting or industrial fabrication shop.
