Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Rigger / Technician to support the construction of custom aluminum boats. This role involves precise rigging, load handling, and the operation of heavy equipment within a dynamic construction environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring safe, efficient assembly processes while adhering to all safety standards and regulations. Duties Perform rigging operations using load securing methods to safely handle materials and components during boat assembly. Operate overhead cranes, boom trucks, backhoes, and other heavy lifting equipment in accordance with load handling procedures. Manage materials handling tasks including shipping and receiving activities with precision and safety. Implement crane operation protocols while ensuring compliance with construction workplace safety regulations. Secure loads effectively using appropriate rigging techniques to prevent accidents or damage. Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment and lifting devices to maintain operational integrity. Follow OSHA safety standards and safety protocol adherence throughout all tasks. Assist with hydraulic systems maintenance and troubleshooting related to lifting equipment. Support construction site activities by coordinating crane movements and load placements efficiently. Maintain detailed documentation of load handling procedures, safety checks, and operational logs. Experience Proven experience working in construction environments with heavy equipment operation such as cranes, boom trucks, backhoes, or hydraulic machinery. Mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, materials handling equipment, and rigging systems. Familiarity with crane operation including overhead cranes and boom trucks. Demonstrated understanding of construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA standards. Experience in shipping & receiving operations within a construction or industrial setting. Ability to perform load handling procedures in accordance with safety regulations. Strong knowledge of safety equipment use and maintenance practices. Prior involvement in boat or marine construction projects is advantageous but not mandatory. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred for operating certain vehicles on-site.
