Roofing Service Department Coordinator Okler Roofing | Kingsford, Michigan Okler Roofing is looking for an experienced roofing professional to help lead and grow our Service Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has spent years in the roofing industry and is ready to put that experience to work in a different capacity. Rather than spending every day on full roof replacements, this position combines hands-on roofing knowledge with scheduling, problem-solving, client communication, and leadership. The right person will take ownership of our smaller roofing service and repair work while helping coordinate one to two supporting team members. What You'll Be Doing As our Roofing Service Department Lead, you will be responsible for helping manage service calls from the time they are scheduled through completion.

Responsibilities will include:

Scheduling and coordinating roofing service and repair appointments Communicating directly with clients regarding scheduling, findings, repairs, and next steps Delegating work to one or two supporting employees and coordinating their daily workload Evaluating roofing issues and determining appropriate repair solutions Performing minor roofing repairs and maintenance Sealing and repairing roof penetrations and protrusions Addressing flashing, vents, pipe boots, exposed fasteners, sealants, and other common problem areas Completing minor shingle and metal roofing repairs Performing roof inspections and identifying potential problem areas Taking photos and documenting work performed Identifying situations where a minor repair is not appropriate and a larger roofing solution should be recommended Making sure service work is completed professionally, safely, and efficiently Maintaining communication with the office regarding job status, materials, scheduling, and follow-up Helping us continue to develop and improve the processes for our growing Service Department Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone with significant hands-on roofing experience who understands how roofing systems actually work. You should be comfortable looking at a roofing problem, diagnosing what is happening, and determining the appropriate next step without needing someone else to walk you through every situation.

The ideal candidate will have:

Extensive professional roofing experience Strong knowledge of shingle and metal roofing systems Experience troubleshooting roof leaks and completing repairs Knowledge of flashing, ventilation, penetrations, sealants, and common roofing failure points The ability to safely work on residential and light commercial roofing systems Good organizational and scheduling skills The ability to lead and delegate work to other employees Strong communication skills and the ability to speak professionally with clients Basic technology skills and the ability to document work using a smartphone, tablet, and company CRM A valid driver's license A dependable and professional approach to work Experience with EPDM, low-slope roofing, roof coatings, or commercial roofing systems is a plus. A Different Kind of Roofing Position This is not a traditional production roofing position . We are specifically looking for someone who has accumulated valuable roofing knowledge and wants to use that experience to lead, troubleshoot, coordinate, and solve problems . There will still be hands-on work, but the focus is smaller service projects, inspections, repairs, maintenance, and coordinating the people and schedule necessary to keep the department moving. For the right person, we want this position to develop into true ownership of our Service Department.
