Job Description

Assistant Teacher
  • Infant Room 655 Main Street, Saco, ME 04072 From $17 an hour
  • Full-time From $17 an hour
  • Full-time We are seeking an enthusiastic and skillful Child Care Teacher to join our small team.
You will be responsible for creating an environment for children with nurturing and engaging experiences, fostering their development and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of childhood development and classroom management. We are looking for a teacher that is passionate in working with infants. You will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 2 months
  • 18 months.
You will work closely with the Lead-teacher and parents to meet the individualized needs of each child in our infant room.
Key responsibilities include:
Fostering Development:
Encourage physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth through age-appropriate play and activities.
Lesson Planning:
Plan activities that promote learning and development.
Communication:
Maintain regular communication with parents about their child's progress and needs.
Behavior Management:
Manage and evaluate children's behavior, and collaborate with parents to address any issues.
Safety and Environment:
Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment, and prepare materials for daily activities. This role requires patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children, making it a rewarding career in early childhood education.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma and at least 18 years of age.
  • Pediatric CPR/First Aide certification, or be willing to acquire with 30 days
  • Working with infants is a plus
  • Classroom management experience and/or licensed childcare facility experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt and be part of a team.
This position requires a fingerprint background check. An appointment can be made at https://me.state.identogo.com to work in the childcare field. Assistance with this is also available upon hire.

Job Type:
Full-time 38-40 hours a week. We work a 4-day work week 7:30-5:00pm with a rotating off day M-F.
Pay:
Starting at $17+ based on experience with a 90-day review and pay increase.
