Job Description

Title:
Grounds Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum three to five years' experience in grounds maintenance preferred. Ability to operate and maintain a commercial-grade mower, and other related equipment. Knowledge of irrigation equipment operations Ability to safely operate and maneuver a truck with trailer loaded with mower and equipment. Comply with all safety rules and regulations of trade. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Willing to occasionally perform work in poor weather conditions.
Reports to:
Director of Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisor Performance Responsibilities:
Assume primary responsibility for the maintenance and safe condition of all Fort Mill School District sports fields playing surfaces, irrigation systems and immediate surrounding areas as required. Recommend and maintain supplies and equipment required to support all Fort Mill School District sport fields and irrigation systems. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director or Maintenance Supervisor.
Terms of Employment:
240 days per year, 8 hours per day, Non-exempt, FMSD M2 Salary Schedule posted on website. Salary commensurate with education and experience based on district formula.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
