Full Job Description Who We Are :
Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is the provider of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. We are seeking a MHSS Services Manager (Residential Manager) to plan, direct, and provide administrative supervision for the Residential Program. The Residential Manager position offers the opportunity to be flexible, work in different locations, and help individuals live out their dreams in a safe and supportive environment. Minimum Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, nursing, IT or a related field (master's degree preferred); five years of increasingly responsible experience in the provision of mental health services to include three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. At least five years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience in residential services for individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Considerable knowledge of theories, principles and practices of community behavioral, prevention and ID programming; of principles and techniques of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of persons with behavioral disorders; of relevant mental health laws; or IT technology used in these field. Ability to plan, organize and direct a comprehensive program of mental health services; to interpret and apply county, state and federal regulations, policies and guidelines related to the assigned program; to analyze and interpret program data; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise staff. Working knowledge of Medicaid Waiver programs and regulations preferred; demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and quickly resolve them preferred.
Additional Requirements :
Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
