Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing dedicated support as a Special Education Teacher for a contract assignment at a single school location. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilize your skills, focusing on specialized caseloads, and empower students to achieve their full potential in a supportive educational setting.
Openings include:
Middle School Teacher working with students with emotional disabilities Middle School Teacher providing instruction to students with functional/life skills needs Elementary Teacher working with children with emotional disabilities
Key Qualifications:
Active Kansas Special Education Certification (KS SPED Cert) is required Experience working with emotional or behavioral disorders and/or students with functional/life skills needs strongly preferred Ability to manage classroom behaviors while fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with staff, families, and students Adaptable approach to tailoring lesson plans and teaching strategies to individual student needs
Core Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in alignment with IEP goals Track student progress and document outcomes in a timely manner Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors, therapists, and general education teachers Build trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence and growth Participate in ongoing staff meetings, training, and family conferences This full-time contract opportunity offers a rewarding work schedule, allowing you to dedicate focused attention to your caseload at a single site.
