Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and active Louisiana DOE Certification in visual impairment required Visually Impaired Teacher certification Three or more years of experience in elementary, secondary, or special education Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Familiarity with assistive technologies for the visually impaired Proficiency in Braille instruction; orientation and mobility training preferred Ability to provide own transportation Successful completion of required drug screening and fingerprinting
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct services and support for visually impaired students across several school locations Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt educational materials Obtain and manage appropriate resources and materials Deliver in-service training to school personnel to ensure student support Maintain communication with the Louisiana Department of Education and internal teams Document services and student progress
