Job Overview Full-Time Dog Bather / Receptionist Shaggy Chic Grooming Boutique is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and animal-loving Full-Time Dog Bather to join our team. This position is designed for someone who will work closely alongside the salon's leadership and designated groomer, receiving hands-on training and mentorship while primarily supporting that groomer's daily appointments. The main focus of this role is bathing and drying dogs so the groomer can focus on providing quality haircuts and finishing work. Position Overview As a Dog Bather, your primary responsibility will be to bathe, dry, and properly prepare dogs assigned to your grooming schedule. You will work closely with an experienced groomer throughout the day and be trained on our salon's specific bathing, drying, handling, sanitation, and coat-preparation procedures. This is a hands-on position for someone who wants to develop their professional grooming skills while learning proper salon standards and workflow. This position is primarily focused on bathing and drying dogs. Grooming and haircutting are not required. Key Duties & Responsibilities Bathe dogs according to salon standards and instructions Properly dilute and apply shampoos and conditioners Thoroughly rinse dogs to ensure all products are removed Safely and effectively dry dogs using appropriate equipment Brush and prepare coats as directed Assist with basic coat preparation when requested Safely handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, coat types, and temperaments Monitor pets throughout the bathing and drying process Communicate any concerns regarding a pet's behavior, skin, coat, or overall condition Keep bathing areas clean, organized, and sanitary Clean and disinfect tubs and equipment between appointments Maintain proper product organization and inventory awareness Help maintain an efficient grooming workflow Stay on schedule and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Follow all salon safety and pet-handling procedures Provide calm, gentle, and compassionate care to every pet Training & Mentorship You will receive hands-on training and direct mentorship from an experienced grooming professional.

Training will include:

Professional bathing techniques Shampoo and conditioner usage Product dilution Proper rinsing High-velocity drying techniques Safe pet handling Brushing and coat preparation Working with different coat types Salon sanitation procedures Efficient bathing and drying workflow Recognizing signs of stress or discomfort in pets Proper grooming salon safety practices Previous professional bathing experience is preferred, but a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to take direction are equally important. Additionally, days leading into major holidays are mandatory, as these are typically some of our busiest periods of the year. Applicants should be prepared for a schedule that may include weekends, holiday periods, and increased hours during peak grooming seasons. Consistent attendance, punctuality, and schedule reliability are essential for this position. This position is not intended for someone seeking occasional, seasonal, or limited part-time work.
