Legal Assistant/Paralegal Mint Law Firm Lakeland, FL Job Details Full-time $17 - $22 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Confidential information handling Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Phone communication Client rapport building Administrative experience Legal administrative experience Organizational skills Legal case management Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description The Mint Law Firm of Lakeland is seeking an outgoing, detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join our growing team. This is primarily an administrative, client-facing role: you will be the welcoming face and voice of the firm, greeting clients and setting the tone for their experience with us, while keeping our busy practice organized and running smoothly. Beyond the front desk, you will help our family law practice by scheduling depositions and hearings, and support our estate planning practice by assembling estate plans and serving as a witness at signings. There is also room to grow. For the right person — someone with significant paralegal experience and the exceptional attention to detail to back it up — this role can open a path to transition into a paralegal position over time.
But make no mistake:
this is an administrative role first, and we're looking for someone who takes genuine pride in that work. This is a paid position ideal for someone who enjoys people, gets the details right every time, and wants to build their career in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities Greet and welcome clients as the first point of contact for the firm — in person, by phone, and by email — providing a warm, professional experience and making sure every client feels well taken care of. This is the heart of the role and calls for an outgoing personality and a sharp eye for detail. Schedule and coordinate depositions and hearings for our growing family law practice, managing attorney calendars, confirming with opposing counsel, court reporters, and courts, and tracking deadlines so nothing slips. Assist with estate planning documents and packages, and serve as a witness at estate plan signings, helping ensure signings are properly coordinated and executed. Provide general administrative support, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and maintaining organized, confidential case files. Manage client communication through professional phone etiquette and written correspondence; gather relevant information from clients when needed. Assist with billing, data entry, and case tracking using the firm's legal software. Support attorneys with document preparation and correspondence as needed, with room to take on more substantive legal work as skills and experience warrant. Requirements An outgoing, personable demeanor with a real enthusiasm for working with clients and being the welcoming face of the firm. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without losing accuracy. Professional phone etiquette and confident, courteous client communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfort learning the firm's case management and billing software. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and responsibly. Reliable, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of scheduling and follow-through in a busy environment. Prior legal or professional administrative experience preferred. A plus, and a path to grow: significant paralegal experience paired with outstanding attention to detail may open the opportunity to transition into a paralegal role over time. Join us in delivering outstanding legal support and a welcoming client experience. We value proactive, people-oriented individuals who thrive on organization, accuracy, and clear communication — the essential ingredients for success in this role, and a rewarding way to grow your career while helping our clients through some of life's most important matters
