We are hiring an Operations Manager to lead our Maintenance Division. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will own the day-to-day operations, the financial performance, and the growth of the maintenance side of our business. You will report directly to ownership. What you will do Operations Manage day-to-day maintenance operations, keeping routes, schedules, workflows, and crews on track Serve as the primary point of contact between ownership and the maintenance team Develop and refine internal systems, processes, and standard operating procedures Coordinate vehicle scheduling, job site logistics, and equipment upkeep Oversee company software tools for job tracking and assignment, and make sure the team uses them consistently Anticipate bottlenecks and solve problems before they affect clients or crews Financial and administrative Own the profit and loss performance of the maintenance division, tracking revenue, labor, materials, vehicle, and operating expenses and driving margin improvement Prepare and manage client invoicing, including recurring service billing, one-time charges, and plant replacements Manage billing accuracy, collections, and accounts receivable follow-up in coordination with bookkeeping Build and manage maintenance pricing, proposals, contracts, and renewals Sales and growth Generate leads, conduct site walks and consultations, quote new accounts, and close contracts Upsell existing clients on additional services, plant replacements, and seasonal work Execute a growth strategy including market outreach, referral relationships, and retention initiatives Team leadership Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train maintenance staff Manage performance through scheduling, coaching, reviews, and corrective action Manage timekeeping accuracy, time-off requests, meal and rest break compliance, and labor hour control Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable labor requirements Plant care and client service Develop and oversee IPM and plant health strategies including watering, fertilizing, and preventative care programs Manage client relationships and retention, conducting quality walkthroughs and responding to concerns Oversee procurement and vendor relationships with nurseries and suppliers, including purchase orders, lead times, and inventory Support installations, deliveries, and replacements as needed Perform hands-on maintenance work as needed, including watering, pruning, cleaning, fertilizing, and addressing pests, disease, and nutrient deficiencies Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the nursery, warehouse, vehicles, and tools What we are looking for Proven operations or team management experience, ideally in interior plantscaping, horticulture, landscaping, or a route-based field service business Comfort owning a P&L, including pricing, budgeting, and margin analysis Sales ability and a track record of growing accounts Strong hands-on plant knowledge, or the horticultural background to get there quickly Excellent communication and client-facing professionalism with high-end clientele Organized and self-directed, able to exercise independent judgment without daily oversight Comfortable with job management and scheduling software Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record Able to lift and move plants, soil, and equipment, and work on your feet at client sites Able to pass a background check and provide work authorization documentation Working conditions This position requires your physical presence during scheduled working hours. Work locations vary and may include the nursery, the warehouse, client properties, and job sites throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. Company vehicles are provided for job site travel, and mileage is reimbursed if a personal vehicle is required. All tools, equipment, and safety gear are provided, with the exception of steel-toe or composite-toe boots for installation and nursery work. Compensation and benefits $65,000 to $75,000 per year, paid semi-monthly Quarterly profit share bonus equal to 5% of maintenance division net profit 40 hours of paid sick time on your start date, renewed annually 40 hours of PTO on your one year anniversary 3 paid holidays per year: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Company vehicle for job site travel, plus all tools and equipment
